mini FRIENDLY

UNION english is a friendly school. We want everyone to feel welcome and 'at home'. We are trying to create a place for people to come to experience something more than just a lesson. A place where you can escape for a short time and enjoy your surroundings.

mini FUN

English should be fun to learn. We aim to create a learning environment wherein encouragement is the most important thing. We all make mistakes and get embarrassed, but here at UNON english people can feel confident that they will not have to worry about not being perfect.

mini PRICE

English is an expensive hobby to have. It is unfortunate that learning has become so marketable. Yet these are the times we are living in. We have tried to keep our prices as low as we can while still providing quality education.

mini FEELING

Our goal is to create a second home for our students. Our doors are always open whether it is your lesson time or not. If you need help with something, just drop by. If you like dogs, come by and play with Maron and Winnie our two dogs.

mini COMMITTED

It is our hope to help you become better at English. If you have questions and your lesson time is over, please ask. If we have time we can help until you understand. Our commitment to your study is why we opened this school.

CHRIS WADE

Hello!

My name is Chris and I am the main teacher at UNION english. I am from England and have been living in Japan for around 8 years.

I have been teaching English in Japan for 8 years in Iizuka at a number of places including Iizuka Hospital. I have experience teaching both conversation and test english such as EIKEN and TOEIC.

I first came to Japan in 2003. At that time I was travelling by myself. I went on a 6 day hike around Mt Fuji and its surrounding lakes. I spent about a month in total backpacking through Japan. I went to places like Kyoto, Tokyo, Nagoya etc. My favourite place was actually Shirakawago. The countryside was beautiful and the old thatched houses were really scenic.

After this trip I went home and within a month was back in Japan teaching English for GEOS. Since then I have lived in and around Iizuka.

I am really looking forward to meeting everyone who comes to UNION english. I am excited to be able to offer my experience in teaching English to those who wish to learn from me.

Hopefully I will see you all soon.

Chris
